Off-Campus Programs
The Loomis Chaffee School offers several opportunities for students to study
off campus. The programs help students to expand their world view and
broaden their appreciation for different cultures and surroundings and
immerse themselves in new experiences.
The study-abroad program fosters linguistic and cultural enrichment
through a full academic curriculum enhanced by travel in Europe and
Asia. The cultural immersion provided by the study-abroad program
enables students to improve and perfect the language they have acquired
in the Loomis Chaffee classroom. Participating students experience the
culture first hand by living with selected families in the area.
The CITYterm program is a semester-long urban studies program that
makes extensive use of the resources of New York City. The experiential
interdisciplinary learning challenges students to think more critically
and asks them to embrace new experiences.
The Mountain School is open to juniors who are interested in combining
a rigorous academic curriculum with a living and working environment on
a 330-acre farm. The program seeks to foster in students a new
understanding of people’s relationship to the natural world.
